Hello, my name is Christyn Burns, IBCLC Mentee. I work with Milkways Doula and Lactation Services out of Bismarck and am excited to be providing the Grand Forks community with lactation support.
In 2024 I welcomed my daughter and struggled postpartum, especially when it came to breastfeeding. After spending my maternity leave working with multiple lactation consultants, I went back to work and ran into even more breastfeeding issues. At that point, I decided something needed to change. With a 4 month old on my hip and more passion than ever, I went back to school for my IBCLC credential. Over the last 18 months I completed 95 hours of lactation education, 500 clinical hours, and assisted in developing North Dakota’s first bridge bag program offering Pasteurized Donor Breastmilk to moms and babies who may need some supplementation in the early days and weeks of life as an alternative to formula. I am excited to begin offering the Grand Forks and surrounding areas the lactation support they deserve and will be sitting for the IBCLC exam in September!
I live in West Fargo with my husband, daughter and two doodles. In my free time (what is that?!) I enjoy being outside, baking, seeing friends and family, and traveling.
